Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this program designed for?

This 4-week program is built for tweens ages 10–13 who are navigating the social pressures, big emotions, and identity questions that come with this stage of life — especially kids who tend to internalize stress or struggle to put their feelings into words.

What will my child actually do in the sessions?

Sessions are activity-based, not talk-therapy style. Tweens use guided conversation, creative exercises, and real-life scenarios to build skills around emotional regulation, self-awareness, and peer relationships — in a low-pressure, judgment-free space.

Is this therapy?

No. This is a coaching program focused on skill-building and support. It's a great complement to therapy, but it doesn't replace it. If your child is in active crisis or working with a therapist, I'm happy to discuss whether this program is the right fit right now.

How is a group format better than one-on-one for this age group?

Tweens often open up more when they realize their peers are going through the same things. The group setting builds connection and reduces shame — two things that are especially powerful at this age. The small cohort size (max 6 kids) keeps it intimate and safe.

What do parents need to do to support the process?

Not much heavy lifting — but there is a brief parent orientation before the program starts and a short check-in at the close of each week. You'll get enough context to reinforce the work at home without needing to be in the room for it.

How often are the sessions? What dates do you offer?

This 4 week program has sessions once a week. I host tween groups on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sessions are 1 hour each.

Available times for Summer Cohort 1:

Tuesday 1-2PM EST, 5-6PM EST || Wednesday 3-4PM EST, 7-8PM EST

Testimonials

Wendy (Parent)

Shade... helped us reach a point where we could take a sigh of relief. This was something I wasn't sure would be

possible back when we started. They were so patient, supportive and consistent. It is important to me that you let your management team know how much we

appreciate... all of the support our team provided!

It is amazing how much (CHILD'S NAME) and I have learned and how far we have come since we started this journey last summer.

Teen Patient

Her welcoming and friendly energy alongside her frankness and sense of humor made it so easy to talk to her and role play—even when it felt intimidating. She was

always so flexible in her approach and truly met me where I was.
