Is your teen stuck between who they were and who they're becoming?

The teen years hit different. The pressure to perform, fit in, figure out the future — all while managing friendships, identity, and everything in between — is a lot to carry alone.

The Confidence Kickstart is a 4-week virtual group coaching program designed for teens who are ready to stop shrinking and start owning who they are. Over 4 sessions, they'll build self-trust, sharpen communication skills, and walk away with real tools — not just pep talks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this program designed for?

This program is designed for teens ages 14–17 who are navigating the pressures that come with this season of life — things like self-doubt, social anxiety, people-pleasing, difficulty speaking up, or just feeling like they haven't quite found their footing yet. It's also a great fit for teens who seem "fine on the outside" but you can tell something is holding them back. No prior coaching experience needed — just a teen who's open to showing up.

What will my child actually do in the sessions?

Each session is structured with real-life scenarios, and skill-building exercises that don't feel like homework. We cover things like how to trust yourself when everyone around you has an opinion, how to handle social pressure without losing who you are, how to communicate more confidently with peers and adults, and how to start building a sense of identity that's actually theirs. Every session ends with one practical tool they can use that same week.

Is this therapy?

No. Coaching is present- and future-focused. We're not diagnosing, treating, or processing past trauma. We're building skills, perspective, and confidence for right now. That said, I do have 7+ years of experience working inside a mental health startup alongside clinicians, so I understand the full picture. If anything comes up that's beyond the scope of coaching, I'll always be transparent with you and help connect your family with the right support.

How is a group format better than one-on-one for this age group?

Because some of the most powerful moments happen when a teen realizes they're not the only one who feels that way. The group dynamic creates something one-on-one coaching simply can't — peer validation, shared language, and the experience of being truly heard by people their own age. I keep cohorts small (max 6) intentionally, so every teen gets real airtime and no one gets lost in the background. The relationships that form in these groups are often part of the transformation themselves.

What do parents need to do to support the process?

Not much heavy lifting — but there is a brief parent orientation before the program starts and a short check-in at the close of each week. You'll get enough context to reinforce the work at home without needing to be in the room for it.

The most important thing is to let your teen have ownership of this experience. After each session, I'll send you a brief parent note with the theme we covered and one or two conversation starters you can use naturally throughout the week. Your job isn't to push the growth — it's to create space for it. And if you have questions or concerns at any point, I'm always reachable directly.

How often are the sessions? What dates do you offer?

This 4 week program has sessions once a week. You can pick between groups on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sessions are 1 hour each.

Testimonials

Wendy (Parent)

Shade... helped us reach a point where we could take a sigh of relief. This was something I wasn't sure would be

possible back when we started. They were so patient, supportive and consistent. It is important to me that you let your management team know how much we

appreciate... all of the support our team provided!

It is amazing how much (CHILD'S NAME) and I have learned and how far we have come since we started this journey last summer.

Teen Patient

Her welcoming and friendly energy alongside her frankness and sense of humor made it so easy to talk to her and role play—even when it felt intimidating. She was

always so flexible in her approach and truly met me where I was.
